Lindsey E. Rehl, DNP,CRNP, FNP-BC
I grew up in a Georgia military town, the oldest daughter of a retired Major from the Army Corp of Engineers and an American Sign Language Interpreter. My southern roots are strongly grounded in faith, family, and a little SEC football rivalry. After playing sports all throughout my teenage years, I chose to pursue a degree in Sports Medicine. I worked as a Certified Athletic Trainer in a local high school untiI moving to Philadelphia in 2002 with my fiancé, a Philadelphia native. Though much different than my small Georgia town, I immediately fell in love with the history and culture of this city. With a few years of sports medicine experience under my belt, I wanted to expand my medical knowledge base. I received my nursing degree from Drexel University and began my nursing career at Methodist Hospital in South Philadelphia. I later joined the Trauma and Orthopedics Unit at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania and moved with the department to Penn Presbyterian in 2015. During my time as a clinical nurse, I developed a passion for evidenced based practice and became an active member of hospital nursing practice and research committees focused on improving patient outcomes. This passion led me to pursue my Doctorate in Nursing Practice and a career in primary care. During my doctoral training I developed an interest in health issues that predominantly affect women and the LGBTQ community. I look forward to developing relationships with my patients that positively impact their health and quality of life, and I look forward to many years here at NSIM.
Away from NSIM, I enjoy spending time with my husband, three children, and extended family. We love spending time at the shore, camping in the mountains, and playing and biking in many of the beautiful parks and neighborhoods that are the history and culture of the Philadelphia area.
