Dr. Abraham Dubb’s career in medicine spans over 30 years starting in 1994 when he began his studies at Temple University School of Medicine. Upon graduating in 1998, Dr. Dubb went onto the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill to pursue his residency in internal medicine. In August 2001, Dr. Dubb became board certified in internal medicine and first obtained his Pennsylvania medical license. From 2001 to 2004, Dr. Dubb researched advanced image processing techniques as part of a computer science fellowship. The publications that he generated during this time are still cited to this very day. After the research fellowship, Dr. Dubb went on to work at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Philadelphia for 15 years. At the VA, Dr. Dubb was an attending physician in the emergency department, primary care clinic, and inpatient medicine consultation service. In addition to these jobs, Dr. Dubb helped develop the VA’s quality and population medicine programs.
In 2017, Dr. Dubb left the VA to pursue the design and patent of a novel bicycle pannier system over two years. During this time, Dr. Dubb volunteered at a free medicine clinic.
In 2019, Dr. Dubb returned to full-time medicine to work for Innovage, a provider of medical services for the Medicare/Medicaid population. During his time at Innovage, Dr. Dubb was appointed medical director of their Allegheny and Henry Avenue locations. In January 2023, Dr. Dubb moved from Innovage to Oak Street Primary care in the northeast to continue his role as a primary care physician.
Two years later in January 2025, Dr. Dubb is honored to be able to join Ninth Street Internal Medicine where he can pursue his passion in the neighborhood where he lives. Dr. Dubb‘s expertise includes diabetes mellitus, congestive heart failure, depression, pain management, and palliative care. At all times, Dr. Dubb centers the patient when pursuing a medical plan. Indeed, the patient is Dr. Dubb‘s guiding light.
Dr. Dubb hails from Philadelphia and has been in this wonderful city most of his life. His hobbies include furniture building, playing music, and bicycle riding.
